Homeopathy is a truly “traditional” medicine, with its beginnings dating back to the late 1700s. Disillusioned with common medical practices of his time, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann founded homeopathy with the primary principle “let likes be cured by like.” This law of similars refers to the idea that any medicine capable of provoking certain symptoms, when given to healthy people, can help to heal sick people who are experiencing similar symptoms.

During the last few centuries, homeopathy has been used to help people overcome numerous health complaints from acute to chronic and mild to severe. Its safety is well known for people of all ages, including children and seniors. It is easy to use and, when used properly, does not have side effects and is not contraindicated with other medications. What more could you ask for from a traditional medicine in today’s modern world?

Below are some common questions a curious consumer may ask a retailer regarding the most effective ways to take advantage of homeopathy’s healing properties:

What kind of effect does homeopathy have?

Sometimes, our bodies need a catalyst to help the body act to its fullest abilities, and homeopathy can provide that stimulus. Ideally, a homeopathic remedy will alleviate acute conditions within a few minutes to hours after taking the homeopathy remedy. If there is no effect after taking the remedy twice, then most likely another remedy should be selected. If there is even a slight improvement, the remedy should be taken a few more doses unless another remedy is better indicated.

How are homeopathic remedies administered?

Homeopathics are available as individual remedies and in combinations. Individual homeopathic remedies in the 6, 12, and 30 C and X potencies are best for acute conditions. Homeopathic remedies can be repeated as often as every 15 minutes and given up to about six to eight times per day. Once symptom-free, the individual should stop taking the remedy. If no relief occurs after a few doses of the selected remedy, a different homeopathic prescription may be better indicated.

What are combination homeopathic remedies?

A simple approach to using homeopathy is selecting a combination homeopathic that has been formulated for a particular health condition. Combination remedies contain multiple remedies that are commonly used to treat a particular condition. This offers a nice solution for individuals with little understanding of homeopathy.
