Adult Halloween Candy
Halloween is right around the corner and this year, it’s on a Saturday! That means the parties will all be on actual Halloween. Sorry all you neighborhood kids; I already have plans to not be home passing out candy. This year, I want to go as Jem, from the 1985 to 1988 cartoon show. She was the original Hanna Montana. I just have to find the time to get the outfit together.
Besides for the outfit, I need to make sure I get the right candy for the occasion. With my attempts at a healthy, reduced-sugar diet, it’s difficult to run to Walgreens to get a healthy alternative. But last week, I got an e-mail from Tiger's Milk® who said their nutrition bars are just the answer for adults looking for healthy Halloween treats. They are available in Protein Rich, Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter & Honey and Peanut Butter Crunch in the regular size bars (1.23-oz) and Protein Rich and Peanut Butter in the king size variety (1.94-oz). Each bar contains 16 vitamins and minerals and contains up to 10 grams of protein, with zero grams of trans fat.
Today, I learned of Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars from Amazing Grass, which provides five plus daily servings of fruits and vegetables; and last Friday, I got samples of Jer’s Handmade Chocolates, made with all-natural, premium, milk, dark and white chocolates and all-natural peanut butter. The samples were all gone by the time I got home (I shared them with co-workers, I promise).
While I may dress like my childhood hero, I will be able to eat chocolate like the health-conscience, eco-friendly adult. Hooray for the natural products industry! What are your favorite adult treats for Halloween? Leave your comments below.
