Chew on This
I try to stock up on the xylitol-based gums when I am at a heath food stores. But without a doubt, I find myself at an airport, gas station or Target in need of a quick breath fix.
For instance, I was out and about running errands this weekend, and I found myself in need of gum. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up a pack of Eclipse, made by Wrigley, which contained cardamom. As you may or may not know, cardmom is extensively used and admired as a spice around the world. This herb has been used for centuries, especially in the Far East, to reduce nausea, freshen breath and aid digestion. The package was nicely labeled and educated consumers on the benefits of cardamom.
Of course, the gum still contained aspartame, so I might be “grounded” for this impulse purchase. But I felt a little better knowing that cardmom oil was near the top of the ingredient list. It’s another great example of mainstream product incorporating more natural ingredients.
