What Impressed Me Most at Expo West

Another year; another Expo West under our belts.  The show had a handful of new companies debuting products.    Of all the new products, new packaging and unique flavor combinations on the floor, I was most impressed from my visit to the Gaia Herbs booth.

Gaia will be launching a new Web site in April 2010, along with a mobile application for their “Meet Your Herbs” program.   They had a beta site available for previewing at the show.  The new site is designed to help customers get a better understanding of purity, integrity and potency behind the herbal products they have purchased.

Each Gaia herb production run has a unique “Meet Your Herbs” ID number.   Starting sometime in April, consumers will be able to go directly to the Web site and type in a product ID number.

This unique ID number will show consumers a handful of items, including:

1 -- Photos and descriptions of all individual herbs in Gaia liquid or capsule blends.

2 -- Region of 0rigin

3 -- Manufacture date

4 -- Inspection and passing dates for pesticide, heavy metal and other testing requirements

5 -- Certificate of authenticity

6 -- Name of laboratory personnel who tested the product.

7 -- Concentration Levels of herbal extracts

This unique traceability program is certain to boost consumer confidence and increase herb awareness!   It’s great to see a company investing this much time, effort and resources into showcasing quality.  It was by far the most unique feature at Expo West.   Congrats to Team Gaia for such great innovation.

If you carry Gaia herbs products, you and your customers will certainly be pleased with the new offerings starting next month.
