BOSTON —The Associated Press reports the Northeast Organic Farming Association conference in Amherst, Mass. this weekend is expected to draw a record 1,500 people. Most of those expected to attend are not large-scale farmers, but those who run small-scale operations.
The conference will feature more than 200 workshops on subjects ranging from growing crops and raising livestock, to setting up community-based farming co-ops, to marketing and selling produce.
