Demand for Green Products

HARLEYSVILLE, Pa.—Despite a proliferation of green products, consumers continue to want more. There are more "green" products and services available today than any time in the past, and some may think there are sufficient green options available to consumers.

Not so, according to NMI's 2009 LOHAS Consumer Trends Database®. More than one-quarter of U.S. consumers state they don't buy green products because they aren't available where they shop, and while that has declined slightly versus previous years, among those who look for environmentally friendly products at their grocery store regularly, only half find them.
