OAKLAND, Calif.–Numi Organic Tea announced its Organic Chamomile Lemon/Sweet Meadows Teasan is going Fair Trade. The product is now being produced and packaged with Fair Trade Certified Chamomile sourced from Egypt. The product should begin to appear in stores as early as December 2009 with the Fair Trade Certified label on its packaging. The product conversion coincides with Fair Trade Month this October.
A Fair Trade Certified label on a product ensures consumers a fair price was paid for the product, fair wages were paid to the workers who produced the item, and the goods were produced in a sustainable manner thereby protecting both the workers and the environment.
