PHOENIX—Sprouts Farmers Market is opening a new store in Surf City USA, Calif. on Jan. 29, 2010. The 23,000 square-foot market, located at 9861 E. Adams Ave., will join 10 other California locations in Brea, Claremont, El Cajon, Irvine, Orange, Riverside, San Marcos, Seal Beach, Torrance and Tustin along with 33 locations in other regions. New locations in San Diego, Thousand Oaks, Culver City, Sunnyvale and Valencia are scheduled to open in 2010.
“We are very excited to open a Sprouts in Surf City USA and provide local residents with the convenience of saving time and money with a one-stop shop,” said Doug Sanders, president and COO, Sprouts Farmers Market. “We welcome folks right off the beach to come over and enjoy our low prices on great-tasting healthy and natural foods that suits the active lifestyle of the community.”

On Friday, Jan. 29, the store will host a grand opening ceremony with a giant cherry pie and ribbon cutting ceremony at 7 a.m., and will give away free Sprouts reusable “green” bags while supplies last. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, Sarah “The Cheese Lady” Kaufmann will carve a “Surf City USA” theme into a 300-pound wheel of chipotle cheddar.
Arizona-based Sprouts Farmers Market’s features natural, organic and favorite indulgence foods, including f fresh produce, all-natural meats, seafood delivered up to six days a week and more than 200 bins of bulk rices, spices, nuts and grains.
