Planet Dog Holds Dog Kissing Contest

PORTLAND, Maine—Beau, a Yorkie mix, is the winner of Planet Dog's 6th Annual Valentine's Day Canine Cocktail Party & Dog Kissing Contest. Seventeen contestants competed in the event, which was held at the Planet Dog Company Store in Portland, Maine to raise money for the Planet Dog Foundation (PDF), Planet Dog's nonprofit grant-making organization that supports canine service organizations.  The entry fee was a $5 donation to PDF and a total of $250 was raised.

Beau kissed for a 52.5 seconds, setting a new record.  Beau's owner is Linda Walton, but Beau broke the record kissing his long time babysitter, Stephanie Argetes.  Beau took home an assortment of Planet Dog's best-sellers valued at $75 for the longest, sloppiest kiss. The second place went to Rosie, a labradoodle companion of Katie Rawls.  Rosie kiss lasted 14.4 seconds. Third place went to Buster, a corgi-Jack Russell mix.  Buster kissed human companion Nancy Jackson for 11.2 seconds.
