WASHINGTON–The “Life…supplemented” consumer wellness initiative launched the America’s Wellness Challenge Photo Contest. From March 16 through April 12, 2010, “Life…supplemented” is inviting Americans to channel their imagination and dedication to getting healthy with a chance to win one of six prizes, including one grand prize of $1,000 and a year’s supply of multivitamins.
“America’s Wellness Challenge is designed to motivate consumers to make small changes to improve their wellness regimens,” said Barbara Dehn, RN, MS, NP with Women’s Physicians in Mountain View, CA and advisor to the “Life…supplemented” program. “Research shows that most Americans are wellness ‘wannabes’ – now is the time to stop making excuses, get healthier and potentially win a prize for making it a priority.”
Contestants register for the contest at www.lifesupplemented.org/photo_contest. Then, they take “My Wellness Scorecard,” a free online quiz that assesses wellness in the three pillars of health—healthy diet, supplements and exercise. Entrants are categorized on a wellness scale from “AlphaWELL” to “OhWELL” and receive personalized tips on how to improve their wellness score. Contestants can then upload a photo and caption of 150 words or fewer demonstrating one simple change they are planning to make to live healthier based on the results from the Scorecard.
In addition to the America’s Wellness Challenge Photo Contest grand prize, two top finalists will each receive $250, a Nintendo Wii™ console and Wii Fit Plus™ and three runners-up will each receive a $100 SpaFinder® gift certificate. Entries will be judged on clarity of expression, relevance to topic, and creativity/originality.
