CHICO, Calif.–R.W. Knudsen Family Spritzers will reappear on shelves this spring with a modified formula containing fewer calories, updated packaging and carrying case, and a redesigned look. The new Spritzers contain 70 percent to 80 percent juice, a reduction from the original formula, which contained 100 percent juice. This adjustment naturally decreases the calories per can from about 200 to 120 or 110. As for taste, the primary fruit flavors are now more pronounced since the mixing juices (commonly white grape and apple) were decreased. Based on consumer feedback R.W. Knudsen Family also transformed Spritzers' traditional 12-ounce can to a sleek 10.5-ounce can. With an updated design showcasing real fruit and lively colors, the packaging is stylish and inviting. The new Spritzers come in four-packs with a recyclable paper wrap, replacing the former six-pack unit. The four-pack allows for a more approachable price point, especially for consumers that may be new to the natural beverage category.
