OREM, Utah–Xlear’s Spry gum will be featured in this year’s romantic comedy, “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend.” The movie, which will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 24, 2010, follows actress Alyssa Milano as she has to choose between two loves, including an advertising executive played by Michael Landes who is running a contest for a new Spry gum spokesperson. In an ironic twist, Milano’s brother in the film, played by actor Tom Lenk, buys a pack of Spry gum and wins the spokesperson contest. Xlear Nasal Spray also makes a cameo appearance.
“It is not very often that an opportunity comes along for a company like ours to get involved in major motion picture that will likely be seen by millions of people around the world,” said Blaine Yates, president of Xlear inc. “We saw this as a great opportunity to promote the Spry and Xlear brands, as well as put xylitol on a big stage. This may be the first big screen film to prominently mention xylitol, and we look forward to the response from viewers of the film and our customers.”
Spry gum is 100-percent sugar-free and is sweetened exclusively with xylitol, a naturally occurring sweetener found in fruit, vegetables and other natural sources which has proven to help reduce the risk of tooth decay. Xylitol prevents acid production from oral bacteria and reduces the ability of bacteria to adhere to the tissues in the mouth. Recent studies have shown xylitol’s moisturizing effects help to create a better oral environment and to increase mineral absorption into the enamel of the teeth. Spry Chewing Gum is a non-GMO, gluten-free product. Spry Chewing gum is available in several flavors, including spearmint, peppermint, fresh fruit, cinnamon and green tea. Spry gum is part of the Spry Dental Defense System® a family of oral health care products that are sweetened with xylitol.
