PHOENIX—Peter Lamas, founder of Lamas Beauty, celebrity hair stylist, makeup artist, skin expert and author will give a free lecture on "The Dark Side of the Beauty Industry" at select Sprouts locations. Additionally, Sprouts is also offering 15-percent off all Peter Lamas Products for entire month of June.
Lamas will discuss a behind-the-scenes look into the world of natural beauty, what is in conventional and natural beauty products, the benefits and dangers of sun exposure, facts and myths of anti-aging and the dangers of cosmetic surgery.
Sprouts and Lamas feel these lectures will benefit shoppers because most use an array of hair, skin, body and beauty products without ever asking whether they are safe or not. Consumers incorrectly assume that FDA has such tight regulations on these products. However, Sprouts said little attention is given to the many potentially harmful ingredients that are widespread throughout the beauty industry.
