BROOMFIELD, Colo.–Silk® Unsweetened soymilk will now be offered as an organic-only option, transitioning from its current offering of both natural and organic choices. Silk’s portfolio will include: Unsweetened, available in organic-only; Original, available in organic and natural options; and Vanilla, available in organic and natural options.
“We are proud to make a change that allows us to continue sourcing beans from North America,” said Craig Shiesley, vice president for Silk. “At the same time, it’s exciting to continue offering organic options to consumers who want them.”
In January 2009, Silk expanded its offering of natural soymilk based on consumer demand for a more affordable line of soymilk made with domestically sourced beans. This change allowed Silk to continue offering soymilk options that meet a variety of consumer needs, while producing products that are non-GMO and meet Silk’s quality standards.
As part of the company’s dedication to responsible sourcing, Silk will continue its relationship with Conservation International to further develop its Soybean Sourcing and Production Guidelines. Silk is also initiating a partnership with the Non-GMO Project, a third-party auditing program that reinforces and strengthens Silk’s robust GMO testing protocols.
