GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.–Sunflower Farmers Market will open its 10th Colorado location on Wednesday, June 23 at 7:00 a.m. in Greenwood Village. The new market will be located in the Arapahoe Marketplace Shopping Center at 8557 E. Arapahoe Rd. and Yosemite St.
The Greenwood Village opening marks the 30th store in the natural foods grocery chain. Grand Opening festivities will kick off on Wednesday, June 23 at 6:45 a.m. with food samplings, giveaways and grocery specials. A special Sunflower garland-cutting ceremony will be held before doors open at 7:00 a.m. The first 200 customers on opening day will receive a free reusable shopping bag filled with a sampling of Sunflower’s healthy groceries, valued at over $50.00, with any in-store purchase. Customers are encouraged to arrive early, as the line typically forms hours before the store opens. Ten thousand additional reusable shopping bags will also be given away to each customer with a purchase.
Free samples from virtually every Sunflower department will be given away all day by on-site vendors, and guests can enjoy entertainment from local performers. Until 6:00 p.m., the grill will sizzle for an on-site barbeque featuring free samples of all-natural Harris Ranch beef. A kids’ activities tent will feature cooking classes, crafts and games.
“We are very excited to open our 10th grocery store in Colorado,” said Sunflower Founder and CEO, Mike Gilliland. “We bring a high-quality, affordable grocery option to residents, staying true to our motto of Serious Food at Silly Prices® since day one. Our produce, meats and seafood are delivered fresh daily, offering a superior way to grocery shop.”
Sunflower, founded in 2002, currently operates stores in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Texas. The growing chain recently launched a new store in Albuquerque, NM, earlier this month and has plans to open another store in Longmont, CO, later this year.
