NORCO, Calif.–Emani Minerals was approved by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) as a company that does not test their products on animals. PETA included Emani Minerals on a list of cosmetics, personal care and household cleaning product companies that do not test its products on animals. This list was compiled in concert with PETA’s “Caring Consumer Project" in an effort to raise consumer awareness of companies that do not test their products on animals, and to encourage boycotts of companies that do until they change to a non-animal-testing policy.

PETA’s “Caring Consumer" program is a database of information that has been gathered on the animal-testing policies of cosmetics and household-product companies, as well as signed statements of assurance from companies that meet PETA’s cruelty-free criteria. This information is provided to members and others who are concerned about animal testing and turn to PETA for definitive information on companies’ animal-testing status.

According to Michelle Doan, CEO for Emani Minerals, companies are well aware that consumers are serious about the issue of animal testing. “It’s just plain wrong to inflict pain on a helpless animal," explained Doan. “My staff and I at Emani are animal lovers. Our company completely avoids any kind of animal testing. We strongly encourage all companies to implement testing practices that do not include animals. This is why we reached out to PETA and its SafeCosmetics.org program. At Emani, we are passionate about the products we produce. But we are also equally passionate about the welfare of living things. Animals should never be abused in the name of beauty."

PETA has more than 2 million members and supporters. The organization focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: factory farms, laboratories, the clothing trade and the entertainment industry. PETA also works on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds and other "pests," and the abuse of backyard dogs.  PETA works through public education, cruelty investigations, research, animal rescue, legislation, special events, celebrity involvement and protest campaigns.
